The elegant, sporty ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV will make the history with several firsts. It is the first SUV-bodied COUPÉ model on the Czech market, the first RS electric car and the most powerful production of ŠKODA in history.
The idea of an electric SUV COUPÉ took off in 2019, when the VISION iV concept was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show. It was this futuristic concept that became the design template for the first electric RS. But it's not just a stylish affair. The electric ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV is the most powerful production of ŠKODA ever. The system output of the twin electric motors offers a flat 300 hp and 460 Nm of torque.
“The new ENYAQ COUPÉ iV is the result of transforming the VISION iV study, which received a lot of attention two years ago, into a mass-produced car. The elegant design featuring sculptural shapes and crystalline elements ensures a dynamic appearance. With its athletic lines, ŠKODA ENYAQ COUPÉ iV evokes even more emotion than the ENYAQ iV, which has made a big mark on the market. The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV also offers all the well-known strengths of ŠKODA cars, including generous space and high functionality,” says Oliver Stefani, ŠKODA’s Chief Designer.
Like the electric SUV ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV, the basis for the sporty ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV is the MEB modular platform developed specifically for electric vehicles. Both body styles of the ENYAQ COUPÉ iV and the ENYAQ iV are among the only vehicles built on the MEB platform to be produced outside Germany directly on the line in Mladá Boleslav.
Dynamic at first sight
The emotion-focused ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV differs from the standard ENYAQ iV at first glance by its sporty body with a distinctly sloping rear end. But the dynamic look is not just to impress. The COUPÉ body has significantly better aerodynamics than the standard ENYAQ COUPÉ iV SUV. Specifically, we're talking about an air drag coefficient cx of 0.234 (the ENYAQ iV has a cx of 0.258). Lower aerodynamic drag reduces noise at high speeds and also reduces energy consumption. A fully charged ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV can therefore travel up to 545 km on a single charge according to WLTP.
The exclusivity of the top-of-the-range design is also enhanced by the sporty front bumper, illuminated front grille, more pronounced side sills, the unique Mamba green body paint, 19- to 21-inch wheels with aerodynamic covers, a glass panoramic roof, standard LED headlights and the RS-specific contrasting black body accessories.
The sporty body shape is of course matched by the dynamics. A pair of powerful electric motors powering all wheels guarantees acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h. That's a full 20 km/h more than the ENYAQ SPORTLINE iV 80, the fastest electric car to date.
“The new range-topping version is also ŠKODA’s first purely electric RS car. The ENYAQ COUPÉ iV, with its very elegant body, is a perfect combination of emotive looks and high performance, while still offering the spaciousness ŠKODA cars are renowned for,” says Schäfer.
Ergonomic interior
The sporty atmosphere continues in the modern interior. Standard of the RS version are sports seats with integrated head restraints including the RS logo, a sporty three-spoke steering wheel upholstered in perforated leather, aluminium pedal covers or carbon-coloured dashboard and door panel trim. In the Design Selection RS Lounge version, the sports seats are upholstered in Suedia with lime green contrast stitching to match the new body colour. The same colour accent can be found on the stitching of the steering wheel or the carpets and on the dashboard, which is also upholstered in Suedia. Optionally, customers can choose the Design Selection RS Suite with upholstery in black perforated leather with grey contrast stitching.
Even in the sporty ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV, the crew can look forward to a full range of of Simply Clever features, a spacious interior and a luggage compartment with up to 570 litres as standard. The equipment in the form of top-notch assistance and safety systems matches the range of the ENYAQ iV SUV already on sale. There are modern features such as a head-up display with augmented reality, nine airbags, advanced connectivity services with online updates and a top-of-the-range parking assistant.
Easy and fast charging
The ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV comes equipped with the standard largest battery available, with a capacity of 82 kWh, which can be charged with up to 135 kW of power. As a result, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80% capacity in just 29 minutes when using a fast charging station. At home, in the garage, using the ŠKODA iV Charger AC wallbox, the battery can be charged with up to 11 kW of power, which will recharge the battery in eight hours. As a standard, the ENYAQ COUPÉ RS iV is equipped with a Mennekes charging cable, and a charger compatible with all common charging sockets is available on request for charging from a 230 V domestic socket with an output of 2.3 kW. ŠKODA also supplies a universal iV charger with interchangeable connectors. In combination with the CEE adapter, it enables charging on more powerful sockets up to 11 kW.
