Freddy Loix’s and his Dutch co-driver Johan Gitsels’ domination of the Belgian Rally Championship continued over the weekend at the Sezoens Rally in Bocholt, north-east Belgium.
The Belgian driver extended his 100% start to the season with another victory in his ŠKODA Fabia R5 in round five of the Belgian championship. Driving with the support of ŠKODA Belgium, they took victory by just over 50 seconds and won nine of the fifteen special stages which made up the 145 km mixed surface event.
After pushing hard at the start to open up a comfortable lead of 22.7 seconds by winning the first five stages, Loix and Gitsels then drove an intelligent race to consolidate and enhance their lead and secure the win that already moves them to within touching distance of a championship win.
