This weekend’s Rally de Portugal marks the fifth round of the World Rally Championship and with the action back in Europe there is no shortage of ŠKODA Fabia R5s taking part.
As well as two ŠKODA Motorsport cars, there are nine other ŠKODA Fabia R5s in action. Those competing include Teemu Suninen/Mikko Markkula, who won the recent Rally Guanajuato México, and Nicolás Fuchs/Fernando Mussano, who were top of the WRC2 podium at the Rally Argentina.
While Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari /Killian Duffy and Hubert Ptaszek/Maciej Szczepaniak are well known faces both in WRC2 and ŠKODA camp, there are three crews starting with ŠKODA Fabia R5 cars in WRC for the first time: Australian pairing of Scott Pedder/Dale Moscatt, Belgians Ghislain de Mevius/Johan Jalet and Portuguese team of Diogo Salvi/Paulo Babo.
Julien Maurin/Olivier Ural are looking for a first WRC2 finish of the season and the Portuguese pairing of Miguel Campos/Carlos Magalhães are hoping to capitalize on home advantage to put in a strong performance.
