For the ŠKODA Motorsport team, the reigning Czech rally champions Jan Kopecký/Pavel Dresler were competing. Jan is the most successful driver in the history of the Rally Hustopeče with four previous wins meaning it is a favourite event for him. And he secured another victory to extend his 100% start to the Czech Rally Championship 2016, winning 8 of the 12 stages in the process.
The other ŠKODA Fabia R5s, which took part, included Pavel Valoušek/Veronika Havelková driving for the Energy Oil Motorsport team, who secured a well-deserved second place overall and first in the Slovak Rally Championship classification.
Vojtěch Štajf /František Rajnoha, who drove in the colours of the Klokočka ŠKODA Czech National Team, finished in fourth place overall, while Tomáš Kukučka/Peter Vejačka also took part with the car of the KL Racing Team. Slovak team finished tenth in the Slovak Rally Championship rankings.
