The Czech Rally Championship gets underway this weekend with the Rallye Šumava Klatovy. As our home series and one, in which we are the reigning champions, it is a championship particularly close to our hearts, and there is a strong ŠKODA Motorsport presence with two of our factory driving teams competing in their ŠKODA Fabia R5 cars.
Jan Kopecký/Pavel Dresler are defending the title, they won comprehensively last year, having won all five rallies they took part in, including the 2015 Rallye Šumava Klatovy. Meanwhile, the Swedish pairing Pontus Tidemand/Jonas Andersson are competing in their first rally in the Czech Republic and looking to build on previous success in the ŠKODA Fabia R5 at the Rally Sweden back in February.
The rally takes place in and around the West Bohemian town Klatovy and is comprised on 12 stages and 150 km of competitive rallying.
