The Malaysian Rally is the 5th round of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) 2016, which has been dominated by ŠKODA FABIA R5 cars so far.
Experienced Indian driver Gaurav Gill has used all his skills to win all four events so far and he has regular co-driver Glenn Macneall back beside him at this event, after he missed the previous round in Japan. Meanwhile, the young German Fabian Kreim and his co-driver Frank Christian have four runners-up spots to their names so far and have been learning all the time in their debut season in the APRC. They have just been crowned German Rally Champions, and are keen to keep their winning form also in this rally.
