Norwegians Ole Christian Veiby / Stig Rune Skjærmoen won their first APRC event in the last round at the National Capital Rally in Australia. They have also shown fine form in the Norwegian championship and won their first ever round of the WRC2 Championship at the Rally Poland. They currently sit second in the WRC2 standings and lead the APRC rankings.
Just behind them in APRC standings are teammates Gaurav Gill / Stéphane Prévot. Gill won all six rounds of the APRC on his way to the title last year, but despite winning the opening round this season at the International Rally of Whangarei, he has not had it all his own way this season. He is currently just two points behind Veiby in the championship and after winning in Malaysia last season is hoping his experience will count this season.
