Day 2 (Saturday, 19th May)
After winning all but three special stages at Rallye Český Krumlov, Jan Kopecký and Pavel Dresler finished first, almost two minutes ahead of Václav Pech jr. and Petr Uhel on Ford Fiesta R5. Out of their three outings in Czech Rally Championship, this is their third win in a row and they are 14 points ahead of Pech and Uhel in the second place.
Other FABIA R5s were successful as well, with Filip Mareš / Jan Hloušek in the 4th place and Vojtěch Štajf / Marcela Ehlová in 5th. All six FABIA R5s in the running ended up in the top ten, proving that ŠKODA really dominates the WRC 2 category.
ŠKODA Motorsport boss Michal Hrabánek said: “Jan and Pavel proved again that they are currently the benchmark on tarmac stages. But they are also among the frontrunners in the WRC 2 category at the World Rally Championship. We will see them soon at the next round at Rally Sardinia where they can again prove their class on gravel as well.”
