The Rally Australia was the climax of the FIA World Rally Championship 2016 and for ŠKODA Motorsport it proved to be a historic event. The ŠKODA Motorsport pairing of Esapekka Lappi / Janne Ferm put in a dominant drive and took victory in the WRC2 standings; a win which meant they were crowned WRC2 Champions for 2016.
