The Rallye Deutschland 2016 proved to be a hugely successful event for the ŠKODA Motorsport team. Esapekka Lappi / Janne Ferm claimed their second successive WRC2 event victory in their FABIA R5. It was a result which catapulted them right into contention for the WRC2 championship. They now lie in third spot, just 13 points behind the leader with four events remaining.
Just behind them in second spot in the WRC2 standings was the FABIA R5 of teammates Jan Kopecký / Pavel Dresler. And if that wasn’t enough, the other ŠKODA Motorsport driving team of Pontus Tidemand / Jonas Andersson, who were not competing for WRC2 points in this event, also secured a top 10 overall finish.
